In the swim at the Gold Coast Kids Expo this weekend!

JUMP! Swim Schools will continue its advocacy for early years learn to swim at the biggest parenting event the Gold Coast has ever seen this weekend. JUMP!’s swimming teachers from across the Gold Coast will be encouraging parents to enrol and keep up with swimming lessons for their children during the cooler months. They are ready to answer any learn to swim questions from Mums and Dads at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Learn to swim advocate and managing director Ian Campbell stated:

“Swimming lessons during winter allow children to develop water confidence in time for summer, the season when they were most likely to spend the most time in the water and enjoy family water-based activities.

“But cutting swimming lessons for winter meant children entered summer without important skills, capabilities or the confidence they might have had just months earlier,”

“Swimming is a confidence-based activity for children and a break in lessons means they forget, it impacts their confidence and greatly hinders their level of ability.

“We notice that children who stop lessons over winter can no longer swim to their previous ability once they return.”

He said JUMP!’s state-of-the-art swimming facilities ensured aquatic activity was no longer seasonal. The fun of swimming doesn’t have to stop just because the weather outside has turned chilly!

“JUMP! Swim Schools’ pools are indoors and the water is heated to 32 degrees so we have the ability to keep lessons going all year round”
