Enrolments reach close to 200 students ahead of JUMP! Geraldton’s Saturday opening

Enrolments for Geraldton’s first specialty infant learn-to-swim centre have reached close to 200 students ahead of Saturday’s opening, reaffirming the region’s need for a quality swimming facility for children.

JUMP! Swim Schools Geraldton’s business owners Darren and Dee Davy, parents to soon-to-be four children, said it was parenthood that led to the decision to open the private, fun and specialised swimming facility for children.

Mr Davy said,

“We love the ocean and all the activities associated with living near water has to offer. Having children of our own, we realised how important it is for them to be able to swim from an early age as they gain so much enjoyment in the water; it can also be very dangerous at times and if ever needed they will be able to overcome this safely.

As a former competitive swimmer, Darren has been involved in swimming his whole life. Dee, a teacher’s assistant at a local special needs school, also takes her passion of water very seriously, having facilitated swimming lessons and water therapy for her students.

“We identified that there was a need for a boutique swim school that provided a small and more personal environment for parents and their children learning to swim.”

The JUMP! Swim Schools Geraldton open day will run from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 29, and will include a bouncy castle, free face painting, cake, a sausage sizzle and tours of the facility.

JUMP! Swim Schools Geraldton is at 13 Anzac Terrace.
